A manufacturing/distribution company near Long Beach California is hiring a full-time Supply Chain Management SAP Applications Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Systems Development who reports directly to the CIO, the Application Manager will direct and coordinate activities within the Information Services Division related to the SAP Supply Chain Management initiative to include the supervision of up to 25 staff and contract resources. A detailed description follows.

PLEASE NOTE: this position requires a management/responsibility level of knowledge for the areas listed. Direct, hands-on experience is not required.

The Applications Manager will be responsible for:

• Communicating with business area and user groups at all levels.
  
• Planning, prioritization, and execution of projects and initiatives including budgets and project plans.
  
• Planning, scheduling, staffing, and monitoring of development and maintenance tasks.
  
• Vendor management including rate negotiations, service level agreements, issue resolution, compliance with standards, and on time execution of project deliverables.
  
• Establishing and maintaining customer service delivery guidelines and internal service level agreements.
• Managing staff to include hiring, performance evaluations, and training for both employees and contractors.
  
• Ensuring adherence to accepted guidelines for project management and systems development methodologies.
  
• Providing status updates and other reporting or presentations related to projects, initiatives, and long-term plans.
  
• Providing analytical or programming support for their supported application.

Technical requirements include 8-10+ years of demonstrated information technology management experience with working knowledge of:

• SAP SD and/or MM application modules required.
  
• SAP ASAP development methodology.
  
• Full life cycle application development.
  

Experience must also include at least five years of information systems experience with a focus on software design and development. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent is also required. Experience with the following is also desired.

• J2EE development.
  
• Working knowledge of the SAP WM and/or MDM application modules.
